Our professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and accompany you to the magnificent Temple of Kom Ombo.
The Temple of Kom Ombo is located on the banks of the Nile in Upper Egypt and is one of the most unique temples dating back to the Ptolemaic period. Its most distinctive feature is its double design, as it was dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder. The temple features two entrances, two hypostyle halls, and two symmetrical sanctuaries. Its walls are beautifully decorated with religious reliefs and depictions of ancient medical instruments, providing fascinating insight into the scientific knowledge of ancient Egypt.
Next, continue to the Temple of Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples of ancient Egypt, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. Built during the Ptolemaic period, the temple is a magnificent example of ancient Egyptian religious architecture. It is famous for its impressive entrance pylon, open courtyard, and walls covered with hieroglyphic inscriptions depicting the myth of Horus’s victory over Seth. Thanks to its excellent state of preservation, the temple offers visitors a remarkable glimpse into the grandeur of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
